Jeanette Hurst, 84, of La Marque, Texas passed away Sunday, September 21, 2025.  She was born in Huntsville, Texas on November 11, 1940, to Lawrence and Veronica (Verna) Kmiecik.

Jeanette grew up in New Waverly and moved to La Marque after marrying. She was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque.  Jeanette was a teacher for over 30 years, retiring from Texas City ISD.

She is preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Verna and husband Joseph Hurst.  Jeanette is survived by her son Christopher Hurst and daughter- in- law Barbara; daughter Janet Whitehead and son- in- law William; and her grandchildren, Katelyn Hurst, Benjamin Hurst, Jillian Whitehead and Bradley Whitehead.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 29, 2025, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm with a Vigil and Rosary at 6:00 pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Msgr. James Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm in New Waverly at the St. Joseph Elmina Cemetery.
