Ian Lee Diem

Ian Lee Diem, 41, passed away on May 25th, 2025.  He was a beloved father, husband, and friend and will be missed deeply by all who knew him.

Ian was born on May 21st, 1984, in Texas City, Texas to Rhonda and Rodney Diem.

From a young age, Ian was captivated by the vibrant colors and quiet beauty of the sea.  Coral reefs, teeming with life, became a lifelong passion. Whether snorkeling in tropical waters or tending lovingly to a home aquarium, Ian found joy and peace in the dance of fish and the gentle sway of coral. For Ian, the ocean was more than a fascination—it was a reflection of life’s wonder and complexity.

But as deep as Ian’s love for the sea ran, it was matched only by Ian’s devotion to family and friends.  Ian is survived by his loving wife Diem Tran, daughter, Jadyn Grace Diem, stepchildren, Kaylee Villareal, Daniel Villareal, and Landon Villareal.  Mother, Rhonda Diem and Stepfather, Randy Pinner.  Grandparents, Joann and Dan Benke.  As well as Yen Lê, Anthony Tran, and Kevin Tran.  Also, his 2 fur babies, Ollie and Maverick.

Ian was always the first to lend a hand, offer a kind word, or share a laugh, Ian built a life full of meaningful connections and memories. Whether gathered around a dinner table or sharing stories late into the night, time spent with Ian always felt like home.  His memory will be cherished by all who had the opportunity to know him.

  6. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Diem family. I remember meeting Ian in NY when he worked with my brother. He always just fit right into our friend group and was such a kind person. I will always be grateful for all the help he gave my family. He will be missed.
