Robin Alan “Ace” Friedrich
Robin Alan (Ace) Friedrich was born August 13, 1956. He was the third child born to Verne Leon (Dutch) Friedrich and Theresa Madeline Friedrich. Robin achieved Eagle Scout designation. He graduated from Dickinson High School, and he attended Sam Houston State University, Austin Community College and the University of Houston. Robin had a 30 plus year career starting with Amoco Pipeline Company in Texas City, beginning as a pipeline draftsman, later a plant operator and retiring from Kinder Morgan, as Senior Gas Controller. Robin was an avid golfer enjoying many an outing with his beloved brother, his best friend. Robin enjoyed a good beer, great music, outdoor activities, time with his friends and loved ones and enjoyed barbecuing and grilling brisket, turkey and tenderloin steaks.
Robin was a kind, sweet, gentle man, with the heart the size of Texas; willing to help with any project big or small. He has left behind numerous friends and colleagues.
Robin died April 23, 2025, in hospice care at home. Robin is survived by his wife, Lee Ann; his sister and her husband, Becky and Bob Prihoda and their children and grandchildren; his brother and best friend and his wife, Randy and Mary Friedrich, their children and grandchildren; and his many friends and colleagues; and his in-laws, Lois Hesse, Bruce and Theresa Hesse and their children.
Robin cherished the moments with his sister and brother at his side and his immense gratitude for his family of friends, for their devotion and support this past year as he embarked on this disease driven journey.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Natasha Hirani and her Houston Methodist Oncology Team, Dr. Brandon Smaglo Gastrointestinal Oncology Team and Dr. Tin-Yun Tang Targeted Therapy Clinical Trial Team with MD Anderson. Further, the family wishes to thank the kind and compassionate assistance from the Enhabit Hospice and Health Services Group, Nurse Theresa and Aide Amy.
In his honor, there will be a memorial service on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at 1:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas.
A private interment will be held at a later date.
