Thomas Henry Cook
Thomas Henry Cook, age 62, passed away April 18, 2017, in Bayou Vista, Tx with his family by his side. He was born September 25, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia to Theo And Valerie Davies Cook. He graduated from Texas City High School in 1972, attended College of the Mainland and University of Houston. He had a successful career with Amoco/BP/Ineos as an Operations Coordinator and finalized, in retirement, with commissioning work for new industrial complexes as a consultant. Tom was passionate about the waterfront and coastal living.
He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, but most of all traveling and making memories with Nancy, affectionately known as Bentley.
He was preceded in death by his parents Theo and Valerie Cook.
Tom is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Nancy Laine Cook. His son, Benjamin(Rocky) Cook (April), daughters Cortney McKenzie, Casey Cook and Kimberlie Harrell (Todd) grandsons Noah (J.T.) McKenzie, Hudson and Cooper Harrell along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by siblings, Barbara Pitre (David), Patricia (Sister) Oswald (David) and Mary Horner (Tim).
Services will be 10 am Friday, April 21, 2017, at Crowder Funeral Home located at 851 FM 517 Rd. West, Dickinson, TX 77539.

To the Family. SO sorry for your loss. Hope you will be comforted in knowing that Thomas has the prospect of being resurrected (in the flesh) to Paradise Earth as God has promised. The vast majority will have everlasting life here on earth. God’s Kingdom will do this under the Rulership of Jesus Christ. READ John 5:28, 29, Job 14:14, 15 and Revelation 21:2-4

Tom was the real deal, what you saw is what you got, not one pretentious bone in his body. He had a big & kind heart. You fought a good fight Tom. Tom was a great friend. In my travels with him to Scotland, Germany, and France, he not only contributed his knowledge, but also his humor and wit. He made us forget we were far from home. He always made others feel welcome, with true sincerity. He was a great host at the gatherings at his home. I will always hold him in my memories of the good old days of the Olefins business. I hope that in these sad days, the family is consoled by the thought that Tom touched so many lives, that many others loved him and will remember him, and will think of the loss to his family. My heartfelt condolences.
Tom was a unique soul – he affected so many of my fellow Amoco engineers’ early careers …to the positive. His quick, sharp, sometimes biting whit was paired with his practical, no-nonsense, intelligent, knowledge- and experience-based approach to life. I personally benefitted from his ability to make you feel you were part of a bigger plan. As I begin to look back on my career (now that I’m of THAT age), I consider myself fortunate to have known Tom. My condolences and I wish you peace during this difficult time.

We got to know “Texas” during our winter stays in Vero Beach. What a happy man with a great sense of humour. He and Nancy hosted some of our get togethers and we always felt welcomed heartily. He would tease me because we were from Canada and he always made me laugh. Nancy is a generous friend and we feel very saddened by her loss. Memories will hopefully be soothing at this most difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the family, Nancy.
