Terry Lee Schultz

schultz-t-pic-obitTerry Lee Schultz better known as “Yoda”, 67, made his last wildly inappropriate and probably sarcastic comment on Monday, September 19, 2016 in Texas City due to a glitch in the central main frame. He is now eternally pulling his shenanigans on father Pete (Pauline) Schultz, mother Lois Stanley, brothers Elwyn and Tony Schultz and any other poor soul in the vicinity in a Galaxy far far away. He escaped TCHS with his diploma in 1967. He served 4 years in the United States Army “They made me” however the government exchanged ribbons and medals for various honorable acts. After time served he joined another kind of servitude but this one would last 49 years and would encompass his true Yoda. Not only would he build systems he would build lasting relationships with people he truly enjoyed even if the minions did aggravate him with a wide array of questions at 3am. In the little off time he did have he enjoyed shaming his family with his video game and board game skills, trips to Sonic for his daily malt and watching sports “Go team who ever I had a bet on that week”. He loved golf, good God did the man love his Golf. He is survived by his “Player 2” and reigning Wii bowling champ Karen Schultz, his sister “The beautiful one” Ruth Moore (Bob) of La Marque. His son “The Dr.” Clay Schultz (Elenore) of Round Rock. His daughter “The Artist” Taryn Schultz(David Narvaez) of Webster, Niece “The Favorite” Crystal Medrano(Alfonso) of Seguin, numerous of other nieces and nephews that will forever go by “Hey You”, Grandson “The Prince” Arlo, Granddaughter “The Princess Dagmar”, and though she’s ornery she’s always been honorary daughter Dana Henderson of Dickinson.
A visitation will be on Friday, September 23, 2016 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. Funeral Service will be at 10:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the James Crowder Funeral Home with Rev. Dennis Johns officiating.
In Lieu of flowers the family asks for Donations to the American Heart Association or any charity of your choosing.

  1. Getting to know and work with Terry for 40 years, all I can say is God created just one Terry Schultz. Tell Pete I said Hello!

  2. Terry was a great friend and Co- worker for 32 years. He taught me enough to keep me out of trouble , but not enough to take his job. Always in a good mood and fun to be around.

  4. I will never forget the day I met Terry in 1985. I was a new engineer in Oxo. I asked him about a controller that wasn’t working well. He told me that the controller “controls like old people screw” to which I, caught completely off guard said “slowly?” Terry laughed and said ” no, not at all”.

Our paths crossed many times over the next 30 years. We enjoyed working together and always had fun while working. He was one of a kind and I’m glad I knew him and will always think of him with a smile in my heart.

  5. There was only one Terry and I was priveledged and thankful to know him and work with him. If he liked you, he would help you in any way possible. I will miss his quick wit and sharp knowledge. Wonderful man.

  6. Terry Schultz has impacted Oxo in so many ways through the years that it’s hard to sum it up. He was absolutely my go to man. If anyone said anything could not be done, I would not accept it unless Terry said it could not be done. Let’s also not forget that he received the Union Carbide Chairman’s award which was a very high honor in UCC. He has mentored too many summer interns and new engineers to try to count! The only thing Terry and I ever disagreed on was that I loved it when the unit was running smoothly and he thought it was boring!! What a great man to know, learn from and more importantly to call my friend! I will truly miss him and my heart goes out to his family!

  7. I guess each of us that had a relationship with him cared very much about him. I cannot say enough how much I admired him and how very much respect I had for him as a person and a technician. There have been few men come into our plant that were like him. He just had a sense of what needed to be done and seldom let anything rattle him. He was certainly a Mentor and friend to me and I will always be grateful for everything he did.

He is and will be sorely missed.

  8. Terry was one of my favorite people from UCC and one of the very best at what he did. As his apprentice many years ago I learned so much and had a lot of fun putting papers upside down in his folders. He will be missed by so many. My sympathies to all those who loved him.

  9. So sorry, Karen and family, for your loss. Sounds like your husband was a lot of fun to be around, and was well-respected.

May God’s loving arms surround you and comfort you, now and always.

    Take care and God bless.
