Ron A. Duran, 56, of Dickinson, TX, formerly of Lakeside, AZ, passed away on September 18, 2016 in Houston, TX. He was born February 2, 1960 in Montebello, CA to Ernest and Mary Durand. After thirty years in the fitness industry Ron attended Phoenix Seminary. He was a pastor at Church of the Five Solas in League City, TX. His hobbies include studying church history, camping, and fishing pristine mountain lakes while enjoying God’s creation. He cheers on USC football, LA Dodgers and LA Rams. He is a theologian, preacher of the Word, and self-professed Bible nerd. Survivors include his wife, Lauren Duran; mother, Mary E. Durand; three sons, Sean, Pee Wee, and Malcolm; sister, Laura Durand-Himes, and brothers, Daniel Durand and Mas Andrew Durand; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Celebration of Life service took place in Houston on Thursday. A second service is being planned for Phoenix, AZ.
