Robin Talley Newton

Newton, Robin pic for oitRobin Talley Newton, 72, resident of League City, Texas passed away October 6, 2015. He was born February 12, 1943 in San Francisco, California to parents Robert Newbold Newton and Clara Belle Talley. He was a longtime employee and retired from O’Reilly Auto Parts in League City. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a gunsmith and member of the National Rifle Association, and enjoyed shooting at the Texas City Gun Range.
He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Rae Ann Newton; daughters, Julie Newton, Vicki Spradlin and husband Ted, Cheryl Kochert, Brenda Burkhart, his dog and beloved companion Bear; sister, Bobbie Webster and husband Jesse; grandchildren, Brian Dewey, Serena Dewey, Tristian Burkhart, Justin Burkhart, Myles Meyer, William Spradlin, Beau Spradlin, and Samantha Harbison; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at 4 pm Monday, October 12, 2015 at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas with a funeral service following at 5 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.

The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for their excellent care and compassion. The family would also like to thank Dr. Janice Teer for her excellent care and compassion.

  1. My heartfelt sympathy to the Newton family. The loss of a loved one is so devastating. A scripture I have found comforting is Isaiah 41:10 where it tells us to turn to God for strength and comfort. He promises to “fortify” you and “hold on to you with His right hand.” May the God of all comfort be with you at this time. (2 Corinthians 1:2-4)
