  2. My baby sister! I keep looking at my phone hoping that you will call or text me. I miss you so much, I can’t believe that you’re gone. You were the light of my life. I look back at all of the great times we shared and realize that God blessed me with a sister like you. I was so lucky to be a part of your life. Now, I’m lost without you, words just can’t express how much I miss you. I miss our talks on my way home from work, boy we had some great conversations, I miss the times we spent together. I’ll always remember the time you stayed at our house and took care of me after my knee replacement. You and Mary laughing at my demands. The part I’ll miss the most besides not ever seeing you again is that we could both talk to each other about anything and everything. The good times, the bad ones, it didn’t matter, we’d both come out with a better attitude towards life.
My family was also blessed to know you. You were such an inspiration to us, always pushing us to be better, always making us feel loved, cared for, always wanting us to be the best at everything. Thank God you knew how much you meant to us, how much we loved you. The great thing about our love is that beautiful love that we all shared will guide us to be that better person, that better parent that you always wanted from us. I know that you’re in a better place now, an Angel looking over us. Please save a seat for me in heaven so that when I get there we can catch up on everything.
I love you so much and I’ll miss you even more. Thank you for being my baby sister! Thank you for loving and taking care of my family, and finally, thank you for loving me, a love that will last forever!
    Alway, your big brother.

  3. Mindy I can’t believe your gone after just finding you again last year. You were my best friend in junior high school and the 1st couple of years of high school until my family moved to California. We laughed when we found out that we lived only an hour away for the past 20 years in Northern California. I’m so sorry for your family to lose such a sweet soul. May you rest in peace and your family find comfort in each other during this time. Life is too short for us not to remind each other we are loved.

  4. Mindy, I feel blessed that you recently came back into my life and we were able to spend quality time reminiscing of our times together as youths in Florida. My mother, Sam and I were looking forward to your planned trip here in Florida next week for more laughs and good times. But God had his plan for you, Mindy. It is not for us to question “Why?”. My heart breaks for your family. I know and feel their pain and loss.
    Rest in peace Angel Lady.

  7. My prayers are with you and your children, her Dad and Brother. We knew Mindy as a teenager here in Cocoa Beach. I worked with her Mom at our hospital lab. We all attended the Baptist Church together. Robert and Mindy would take care of my son, Chris frequently. It was always a fun time at the Shaffner house! When I go by their house I remember what a great time we all had there. I know you have wonderful memories to help you through this difficult time. Peace to all of you.
