Laura Lynn Hernandez

Laura Lynn Hernandez, 54, a lifetime resident of Texas City, Texas passed from this life, Saturday, September 30, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was born November 28, 1962, in Texas City, Texas to proud parents, Samuel Davila and Mary Louise Martinez.
Laura was a loving daughter, mother, sister, and grandmother. She loved to spoil her grandbabies, sew, bake (especially brownies), loved the holidays and decorating for them. She enjoyed winning (cheating) at board games she played with her family. Laura always looked forward to spending time with her family and visiting with her friends. Her heart was full of love from her family and the many, many friends she made over the years. Laura was very kind and generous, she was always quick to respond to someone in need. She had a great sense of humor and was known as a “hoot”. As Laura’s health faded she always mentioned how appreciative she was of all the visits and time spent with family and friends she had. For many years she attended the Texas City Church of the Nazarene.
Laura was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Samuel Davila, step-father Napoleon Martinez and two grandchildren, Joseph Davila and Noah Davila.
She leaves to cherish a lifetime of memories, a son, Miguel Hernandez; a daughter, Miranda Ramos and husband Jose; a son, Carlos Davila; mother, Mary Louise Martinez; sisters, Samantha Soto and husband James, and Gail Ybarra and husband Michael; step-mother, Janie Davila; as well as six grandchildren, Jose Ramos, Jr., Ilias Ramos, Joaquin Ramos, Tristan Davila, Kalon Martinez, and Cameron Martinez.
Laura was loved by her family and friends and will forever be missed by all.
In her honor a visitation will be held at Crowder Funeral Home Chapel, Dickinson, Texas, on Friday, October 6, 2017, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. James Lewis officiating.
