  1. To Judy’s Family and Friends,

I only knew your sweet Judy for a brief time. We met at a JSC Lunarfins meeting 2 years ago when she brought in this beautiful 50th Anniversary quilt that she had made representing the clubs travels and achievements. I was in awe of how creative and wonderful a job she had done. So I asked her to make me a quilt of treasured memories of a trip I had taken in 1996, but requested she pick the perfect colors, design, etc. When she completed the project, it was like unwrapping the perfect gift. Wrapped in a bow, I began to unfold this work of art that invoked nostalgia, but it was some how new and surprised and filled with such memories at the same time. This blanket will now hold for me the memory of her, too. The work was quality, but she was the creator and it reflected her own beauty and color of this world. She loved her creativity room and appreciated all the work that had gone into that space for her to pour herself out into world. While our conversations were few, they were personal and appreciated.

I know there are no words that can heal the pain and the loss that you feel, but I hope it will for a brief moment make you smile to know, that she was very much appreciated by so many people that you may even know. She did what she loved and she loved most every minute of it. She would want you to do the same.

  9. Lamar and Family:
On March 25, 2015, I learned of Judy’s passing. Judy and I worked together in the Shuttle Program Office at JSC in the 90s. I always enjoyed running into and visiting with Judy, and sometimes you too Lamar, at the Kroger store on 518. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Judy was so talented with her sewing and quilt making. Please be comforted in that you have years of wonderful memories to sustain you at this time.
