Joe Karamitsos, Sr.

Karamitsos, J pic 14Joe Henry Karamitsos, Sr. passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his residence in Texas City, Texas. He was born on July 9, 1959 in Galveston, Texas. Joe Henry fought hard through his battle with pancreatic cancer and will be remembered as an example to his family and friends of how to fight until the end. He was a jack of all trades who enjoyed carpentry, landscaping, barbecuing, camping, and spending time with his family and friends. Joe was a devoted husband to his wife Wanda of 33 years and a loving father to his three children, Liz, Joe and Timmy.
Joe is preceded in death by his grandmother Aurora Salinas, his sister Chrissy Reyes, and his sister-in-law Deborah Gainey.
He is survived by his wife Wanda Karamitsos of Texas City, Texas; daughter Elizabeth McDaniel (Cain) of Forestburg, Texas; son Joe Karamitsos, Jr. and grandson Joseph of Texas City, Texas; son Timothy Karamitsos (Debra) and grandson Thomas of Houston, Texas; his parents Stavros and Margaret Karamitsos of Santa Fe, Texas; brother Stavros Karamitsos, Jr. of League City, Texas; sister Lisa Reed (Jim) of League City, Texas; in-laws Joseph and Jayne Parker of League City, Texas; and brother-in-law Joe Parker, Jr. of Spring, Texas, as well as many family members and friends.
He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Texas.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm followed by a vigil at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas. A funeral service will be Monday 10:00 am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Hitchcock, Texas with Father John Kappe officiating. A burial will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Joe Karamitsos, Jr., Timothy Karamitsos, Cain McDaniel, Steve Karamitsos, Jr., Stavros Karamitsos III, and Joe Parker, Jr.
