Grace Churchill Winder

Winder PhotoGrace Churchill Winder, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home, on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Mrs. Winder was born in Dickinson, Texas on May 18, 1921 to the late Sam and Daisy Churchill. She was an active member of Bay Area First Baptist Church, serving in the nursery for over 20+ years. She also worked as a baker for CCISD until her retirement. She was known for her delicious cakes, cookies, and cinnamon rolls!! Mrs. Winder was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Herbert Winder and 11 siblings. She is survived by a sister, Alma Meadows, of League City, TX, daughters, Phyllis O’Neal, and Jere Syfert and husband, Gary, all of League City, TX, grandsons, Todd O’Neal, Aaron Syfert, Justin Syfert and wife, Jennifer, Travis Syfert and wife Maria, granddaughters, Shana O’Neal, and Holly Rumbaugh and husband, Eric. Great grandchildren, Fallon O’Neal, Zach O’Neal, Adrian Calderon, Cade Calderon, Aubrey Collins, Callie Rumbaugh, Ryker Rumbaugh, Clayton Syfert, Noah Syfert, Avery Syfert and Austin Syfert and a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held an hour before the funeral service at 1:00pm. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 2 o’clock at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573 with burial following at Forest Park Cemetery in Webster, TX.
