DAVID BAXTER CLAY

clay-photoDAVID BAXTER CLAY, age 80, of Kemah, Texas (formerly of Toledo, Ohio) passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 25, 2016.  He was born on September 18, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio to the parents of David H. and Helen Clay.  David was a Three Palm Eagle Scout in high school and proudly served in the United States Army in Japan and Korea.  He was the owner/operator of Clay Construction from 1964 until his forced retirement in 2012.  He was an avid horse racing enthusiast, Ohio State Buckeye and Toledo Rockets football fan and let’s not forget a Duke Blue Devils basketball fan.  He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters (Marilyn Beverly and Pat McDole), brothers (Allen Clay and Wally Clay).  He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife of 65 years, Joyce.  His son, Gregory (Kelli) Clay and daughter, Michele (Tony) Touma.  His grandchildren, Brandon (Angela) Clay, Colton Clay, Addison Clay, Elias Touma, Douglas Carson and Brandon (Alyssa) Carson.  His brother, Carter (Carolyn) Clay.  His faithful companion Gizmo.  There will be a private family service held at Crowder Funeral Home in League City, Texas on Wednesday, September 28, 2016.
