Louis Fred Blackburn

Louis Fred Blackburn, 92, of La Marque, Texas, passed away on the morning of Friday, January 23, 2015. He was born in San Luis Petosi, Mexico on June 8, 1922 to Mae and Charles Blackburn. Louis attended High School and played football at Ball High. After graduating in 1939, he served in the United Stated Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in La Marque, in fact he built the rectory for the church. For the last two years he has visited Our Lady of Lourds where the greeters were very nice and helped him out and in the car to his wheel chair. Both he and his brother built homes in LaMarque, Hitchcock and Texas City.  Louis is preceded in death by his mother and father, and by his wife of 64 years; Wanda Beatrice Blackburn. He is survived by his, two daughters; Barbara Alexander and Joy Blackburn, two grand-dogs; Gracie and Wally, and his niece; Mary Alice and husband John Dickens.  A graveside service will be held at Houston National Cemetery on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:00pm.In lieu of flowers, donations in Mr.Blackburn’s name may be made to the ASPCA.
