  1. We have the honor and pleasure to have known Ben for but a short time, having moved next door to him 4 years ago. Ben was a very kind and generous man, and always friendly to my family. We are very sad to see his passing, and pray God’s comfort to his family in this time of sorrow.

  2. We are really going to miss our friend Ben. What a wonderful man. He loved his family, both here and in his beloved Holland, and his eyes would light up when he spoke of them, which was often. His wry sense of humor and that whispering laugh will always be a cherished memory of mine.

Prayers of comfort for Jennifer and Mike and their respective families.

  3. We only met a few times, Ben and I, the first time when I was about five years old. It was in the living room of his parents’ house in Arnhem; there was an almost-finished model boat standing on the floor, and he was smiling at me, and for some reason this scene stayed with me as one of my first memories.

We wouldn’t meet again until much later, but my father’s, his brother’s, stories filled in many of the blanks, and I am glad to have known him and known about him. Great guy. Goodbye, uncle, I will remember you.

All the best to family and friends, and especially to my cousins across the pond.
