Wayne Craven
- Office Manager
Wayne
was born and raised in North
Carolina. While in school he worked for Lady’s
Funeral Home, working visitations and services and making ambulance
calls. Wayne graduated from Concord High School, in Concord North
Carolina and then went on to graduate from North Carolina School of
Automation.
We thank
Wayne for proudly and honorably serving our country as a Sergeant in the
United States Marine Corps during the Viet Nam Era. Continuing his
desire to help others he then went on to serve his community by retiring
as a volunteer Firefighter – First Responder and Emergency Medical
Technician with over 20 years service.
Wayne
joined Crowder Funeral Home in 1998 at the Dickinson location. When our Pearland location
opened in 2006, Wayne transferred to this location as Office Manager. He
finds great satisfaction in serving and helping families in a difficult
time in their life.
Wayne currently serves as Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Board for
the town of Hitchcock, Texas.
Wayne has one (1) son and one (1) daughter and three (3) grandchildren,
which he greatly enjoys spending time with. He also enjoys playing golf
and riding his motorcycle.
A few words from our families:
***** Dear Wayne,
You made getting the arrangements for my Mom's impending passing and
cremation so much easier for me and Dad. As you know, we had never
been down that "road" before and you lead us through so gently.
The morning Mom passed your sensitive and caring nature meant more to me
than you will ever know. Because of you, my family and I were able
to focus on each other and our grief rather than worrying about the
final details. Wayne, you have a gift and there are so many of us
on the receiving end of that gift. Thank you from the bottom of my
heart! (Meg Crowley - Pearland)
***** Wayne was
so incredible compassionate and made an emotional and unbearable
situation seamless for us. He helped us through the very difficult
process and was a tremendous source of information for my father as to
what to do after Mom had passed. I was with my Mother when she
passed away and Wayne made himself available to me, even though it was
3:00 a.m. Again his compassion and caring nature helped me
through, what was without a doubt, the saddest and hardest day of my
life. I did not know what to expect from a funeral home, but I can
honestly say, Wayne exceeded my every expectation. I don't know if
I could have gotten through the arrangements and the morning of Mom's
passing without him. Wayne is a very special and caring man.
(Family of Margaret Stow - Pearland)
***** Wayne
went far above and beyond in helping us with the transport of our loved
one. Wayne kindly kept us informed during the stressful event of getting
our loved one back in town to Dickinson. And, he did all this
while maintaining a tender, gentle professional manner. We were
fortunate to have the benefit of receiving help from Wayne during the
day of our loved one's funeral service. Words do not express how
much we appreciated the care given to our loved one and to our family.
We are certainly happy to share with others our favorable impression of
Crowder Funeral Home. (Family of Curtis Melton -
Dickinson)
