Christian C. Corl - Funeral Director
Caring For The Community.... Catering To Families
A third-generation funeral director, Christian Corl comes from a long
line of hard-working, faith-based and community focused individuals. An
active part of the Pearland community for more than 14 years, Christian
has remained committed to give back to the people who have so generously
welcomed him and made him feel at home.
From an early age, Christian learned first-hand that
being a funeral director is more than just going to work each day, it's
an on-going commitment to the people and community in which he lives.
Helping people in their most critical time of need, Christian realizes
the value of building life-long relationships and a dedication to
helping others with not only his resources, but his time.
Starting at the age of 5, Christian got his first taste of helping
others by becoming a walker and fundraiser for the March of Dimes Walk
America. He continued this commitment each year into his adulthood, and
now, is a regular contributor to the very worthwhile cause.
One of four children, his parents and siblings recognized a certain
spirit about his personality and always told him he would be the one to
get into the family business. After watching his grandfather help so
many people throughout his life, he realized that being a funeral
director was his calling.
Even before investing in his Pearland business,
Christian has maintained an active role in the Pearland community as
both a father and a professional. He's a common face at all Chamber
functions and has served on numerous boards in the community. Currently,
he serves as a director on three different boards serving the Pearland
area, and works not only to help those in need, but to help Pearland
achieve its own goals and objectives as a growing city.
Two of the organizations close to his heart are the
100 Club of Pearland and the Pearland Neighborhood Center.
Christian is currently serving his second term as President of
the 100 Club which provides financial assistance to the City of Pearland
Police Officers and their families in time of need with insurance
policies, and special programs such as special education and crime
prevention. The 100 Club of Pearland was founded in 1982 and is like no
other 100 Club in Texas. The 100 Club of Pearland provides a life
insurance policy on each Pearland Police Officer who is fatally injured
in the line of duty as well as additional benefits for the surviving
spouse and children. Christian feels it is important to protect the
families of those that serve and protect his.
A long time board member of the Pearland Neighborhood Center,
Christian recently stepped down from the board to accept the role of
being a 2009 PNC Masked Ball King Candidate with the goal of raising the
necessary funds for the organizations continued Success. The Pearland
Neighborhood Center has become a beacon of hope to so many right in the
Pearland area. From providing the very basic essentials to those in need
to offering important life skills to help those in less fortunate
situations improve their own situation, the Pearland Neighborhood Center
touches the lives and hearts of so many people. As a long-serving board
member, Christian is familiar with the organization, its cherished
volunteers and all of those who are assisted. A multi-faced service
organization, the Pearland Neighborhood Center offers so much hope and
an opportunity for a better life. One of the reasons the Pearland
Neighborhood Center is so important to Christian is the fact that it
helps people close to home to those living in Pearland.
By sharing his story of giving back to the community, Christian hopes
that he will encourage others to get more involved. "It's a wonderful
way to get to know the diverse personalities and talents of the people
of this community," he said. "Everyone who gets involved has something
to offer -their time, expertise, energy and motivation - all of which is
making this city we call home a great place to live in how and long into
the future."
